The FC Talent General Division is your gateway to the world of background work in the dynamic Film & Television industry. We welcome performers of all ages and experience levels, whether ACTRA members or non-union talent.

As a background performer, you'll embark on a diverse range of experiences. You might find yourself sprinting down a bustling street, sipping coffee in a cozy cafe, dancing the night away in a nightclub, or even standing guard beside the President. Your role could transport you to the deserts of Afghanistan, pitting you against alien invaders with laser blasters, or simply allow you to unwind poolside.

Whatever scenario unfolds on set, background performers play an essential role in bringing scenes to life. Their authentic movements and activities enhance the narrative and support the principal cast in telling a compelling story.

A background performer as defined by the Independent Production Agreement (IPA) is: "a Performer, other than a Principal Actor or an Actor, who is:

(i) not required to give individual characterization;

(ii) not required to speak or sing any word or Line of Dialogue;

(iii) not required to perform as a Special Skill Background Performer as described in Article C201(d);

(iv) engaged to perform, either alone or as a member of a team or group, special silent businesses requiring a level of proficiency or other physical skill within the competence of the average person, even if required to perform in dress clothes or costumes.
